About Us

#1 Horse Boarding Facility in Flagstaff

Established in 2006, NARS has become the most highly desired boarding facility in Northern Arizona. We are home to  both year round horses as well as summertime (seasonal) horses. Daily, weekly and monthly boarding options available!  We are the preferred overnight layover stop to the world famous Budweiser Clydesdale's.

We offer many options for boarding to suit the needs of both owners and horses. We welcome all breeds, ages and all disciplines!

Getting here is easy but you'll never want to leave

Our facility is located at 3090 S. Old Munds Highway in Flagstaff just a 1/2 mile from the I-17 and 6 miles from the I-40 freeway.  We are situated on 20 acres of prime forested land with direct access to the Coconino National Forest for miles of riding.

Your horses will be well care for at NARS. With full time, on-site owners and managers and 7 day a week staff, your horses will always be in good hands. We offer custom feeding programs specializing in "hard keepers" and senior horses.

Here's What People are Saying

"I have Shown Grand Prix jumpers and have been to some of the best stables in the country. There is no place like NARS, the facilities are impeccable and the staff is amazing. I never worry about my horses .        ~ Mary S.  2017

I had an amazing experience when I brought my 3 Friesians to NARS for June and July 2017!  Susan had wonderful barn stalls for my horses and her staff is amazing, caring and helpful!  The other borders were such fun and became good friends.  Bess was a great teacher and I got to learn some much needed Dressage techniques from her.  The most important thing is that Susan and staff are so caring with your horses!  It was a wonderful experience.

Northern Arizona Riding Stables is a full

service boarding and training facility. The

management and staff are excellent at their

job. They are always willing to go the extra

mile to make sure your horse is well-cared

for, happy and healthy. The courtesy extends

to owners as well. I have needed assistance

with trailer parking, and various other horse-

owner related issues. They are always willing

to help and listen. I highly recommend this

facility for all your boarding needs.

Meet Our Staff

Owner ~ Operator

Susan Wolfe is a native of Arizona and founded Northern Arizona Riding Stables in 2006. With a lifetime passion for horses Susan puts her past experience in business and the medical field to good use at NARS. She has owned horses for 30+ years and has been working in the horse industry for 18 years. Susan has owned teams of draft horses, quarter horses, mules and more. When not running the barn she enjoys trail riding and spending time with her family. Susan is a mother of 2 grown children who are keeping her well stocked with grand babies!

Riding Instructor ~ Trainer

Bess Sisneros came to NARS in 2012. Bess started riding in a 4-H Club in Hawaii when she was eight years old then guided trail rides on the Big Island of Hawaii for almost seven years during which time she had a wonderful mentor who taught her how to start young horses using natural horsemanship principals. For the next few years she worked at several different ranches primarily starting colts.

In a effort to educate herself further, she found a Dressage trainer and started taking lessons. She worked as her assistant riding instructor for five years teaching basic horsemanship, dressage and jumping at the riding academy in Kailua Kona.

Bess' instruction and training on natural horsemanship methods follow the safety requirements of CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association). She attended the CHA riding instructor’s certification course and graduated with a level 3 in English, Jumping and Western Instruction. In her spare time Bess enjoys being out on the trail and spending time with her Mom and grown son Tyler!

Corrin Davis

Corrin started riding when she was 7 years old. She participated in Western Pleasure and Hunter Jumper, and when she moved to Arizona in 2006 found a passion for Barrel Racing. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelors in Equine Sciences. Corrin shows up to work every day with a smile on her face and a genuine passion for the horses at NARS. Her attention to detail is why we love that she takes care of our horses everyday! During her free time Corrin enjoys working with her three horses and practicing for her next race!
