Bess Sisneros Started at NARS in 2012 but got her start riding in a 4-H Club in Hawaii when she was eight years old then guided trail rides on the Big Island of Hawaii for almost seven years. She had a mentor who taught her how to start young horses using natural horsemanship principals. For the next few years she worked at several different ranches primarily starting colts. She then worked as an assistant riding instructor teaching basic horsemanship, dressage and jumping at a riding academy in Kailua Kona. Bess bases her instruction and training on natural horsemanship methods and follows the safety requirements of CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) having attended the CHA riding instructor’s certification course and graduating with a level 3 in English, Jumping and Western Instruction Bess teaches all ages and all disciplines. For fun, Bess enjoys her time on the trail, competing and instructing Dressage and Western Dressage and spending time with her grown son Tyler.
Joel Vargas has been here at NARS from the very beginning. After nearly 12 years he knows all the ins and outs of this barn. He has a quiet demeanor with the horses and a keen eye when a horse is in need. From the basics of cleaning the barn and feeding horses to major fencing projects Joel has been our "go to "guy. When he is not at the barn he is working on old cars and truck and spending time with his family.
